Another disturbing piece of data, 19 people listed under USA as country of citizenship have been arrested since August 1st according to this dashboard on Florida immigration enforcement.

Another revealing bit of data from this dashboard is how weaponized the Florida Highway Patrol has become in the state since being deputized to conduct immigration enforcement. They are by far the police agency conducting the most immigration arrests.

According to a Florida dashboard tracking state arrests of undocumented people, under 0.5% of those have a gang affiliation, demolishing claims of going after “criminals.” They have also detained a disturbingly high number of Guatemalans and Mexicans, signaling targeting of that community.

Not even the prospect of a $20 billion bailout paid by U.S. taxpayers is stabilizing Argentina after Milei’s peso/dollar manipulation failed. His sister (and chief of staff) is caught in a bribery scandal, and his top candidate was caught taking $200k from a narco. It’s over.

This is the failed libertarian govt in Argentina that could get a $20 billion U.S. taxpayer funded bailout. Collapsed the economy by artificially propping its currency, ensnared in an ongoing bribery scandal, and one of their top candidates admitted receiving $200k from a narco.

The Trump admin wants to expand surveillance of social media accounts to deport people. This will for sure be a cash grab for private contractors, they will for sure target people for political opinions they don’t like, and AI is being weaponized to increase surveillance reach.

this is wild: while Stephen Miller's guy was in Minnesota for his uncle's funeral, somebody was able to see his entire phone and take pictures of his Signal group chats talking about military deployments to Portland, and brought them to the Strib (gift link: www.startribune.com/trump-offici...)

Children will be offered $2,500 to return to their countries of origin. If children do not comply with the “offer”, the letter indicates their parents/family living in the US will be arrested.

This state-run model of immigration detention is becoming so secretive that the Florida Department of Emergency Management, which operates Alligator Alcatraz, is refusing to disclose not just a list of people detained there, but also how many people are now detained at the site.

State-run extrajudicial immigration black sites like Alligator Alcatraz allows politically connected individuals to make hundreds of millions of dollars off Florida’s taxpayers at the expense of jailed migrants, while those held are stripped of their access to legal counsel and due process.

Florida has avoided conducting federal environmental impact studies when building and operating Alligator Alcatraz in environmentally protected land with a dark sky designation. Now that federal money is involved, there’s zero excuse to legally avoid a NEPA environmental study.
Before federal shutdown, Homeland Security Department gave Florida $608M for Alligator Alcatraz
The money was awarded a day before most federal agencies stopped work.
