For months now, more often than not I leave my dayjob with a feeling of utter frustration. A development job turned more and more into a game of politics. Seemingly, the loudest voice drives decisions. I tell myself, this is the last straw over and over again. And eventually, it actually will be.

It somehow gets harder and harder to handle everything. 2 kids, one full time and a freelance gig. I made a promise to my partner that everything childcare will be shared equally. I enjoy the time spent with my family. But recently all together takes a toll on my energy level and mental health.

I'm picking up a clients project again for some feature after a few months. Seeing the code I've written once again shows that one never stops learning and improving. What was I thinking?

When I first started my job as a web developer, the majority of my time in a day was spent writing code.
Now, 14 years in, I spend m days predominantly talking to other devs and stakeholders.
However, it feels like the output is still about the same.

Coming back to work after the winter break with an exciting year ahead.
In the last year, we grew the dynatrace strato design system and component library to an amazing scale. But we are not done yet.

The last year also marked some firsts for me. I got to teach a web dev course at my alma mater ❤️
