And of course part of what is driving poverty in rural states & the dissolution of small towns is the aggregation of what were once profitable family farms into huge agribusiness conglomerates. Once again the oligarchs behind the GOP profit from exploiting the working class, then blame "elites".

Intragroup signaling can certainly be a kind of safety measure. But it's also true that oppressed groups often adopt some aspects of their oppressors both explicitly as pushback ("We can look more masculine than you!") & implicitly as fetishizing some of the things that are used against them.

Let's just face it, there's hardly anyone in this administration more uplifting than Pete Hegseth (except maybe RFK Jr. or Stephen Miller). These are just Pete's countermeasures against Antifa, because they make his skin crawl.

One of the biggest factors in the 1st place that got us into the state we're in was that ppl watching Fox News, many of them initially not radicalized to the far right, believed they were just watching "the news", not all opinion shows & now outright misinformation & full-on propaganda.

I heard ‪Zohran Mamdani‬ interviewed on public radio. I couldn't see his almost-always-smiling face, but I heard his infectious laugh. Even in the face of death threats from rightwing nut jobs & trashing by the Cuomo political machine, he stays focused on wanting to help his fellow NYCers.

It's deeply disturbing, childish (we all know tRump acts like a kindergartener) & probably against the law that government websites have a message not only blaming the Democrats for shutting down the government but using the term "The Radical Left Democrats". Isn't that a violation of the Hatch Act?

All I see & hear from GOP politicians is lockstep support for their Führer, opps, I mean leader. They parrot every WH statement or talking point. They downplay all irrationality as "he's just joking". Exceptions are ppl not running for re-election

I'm not convinced that Tylenol causes autism, but I'm pretty sure years of living on the combination of pot & Jack Daniels can cause high levels of stupidity.

Side note: the prolific presence of cross-wearing along with patriotic symbols reinforces the role White Christian nationalism plays here.

Oddly enough, the last time I recall a large, violent, unruly mob in a city, it was MAGA's J6ers storming Congress at tRump's behest. Those ppl ended up walking away scot-free

This is a possible beneficial use of AI with algorithms & data sources developed & peer reviewed by a group of experts in the field. Use geographic & demographic data with compactness (spatial least square) & fair representation as the goal. No weird lines, clustering by party or arbitrarily by race
