Does the government truly believe that by not using the word ‘genocide’ that somehow we’ll all quieten down… go away… allow their vested interests to carry on as normal?
Or are they really genocide deniers? They choose to turn away, while we watch on, in horror.
Are they ignorant or just corrupt?

Indulged by spectrum whims today and rescued this AVO 8 Mk5 from the recycling centre. Plastic rather than bacolite, even the strap is pvc. Perfect apart from a tiny parallax error… which I’ll fix. Love it!

A new axis of evil begins. This time it hasn’t been constructed by countries, but by the governments in power in those countries. The US/Israeli “special relationship” is as toxic as any evil alliance that has gone before. Good people of those nations, I wish you well. The rest can just fuck off.

Like many organisations across the creative industries, we’re highlighting artists' right to fair recognition as authors of their own work. Meta’s unlicensed use of creators' works undermines playwrights' rights. Find resources to support here: societyofauthors.org/2025/03/21/t...

hey for anyone who might want to actually own their kindle books instead of renting them, or who might be thinking of switching to kobo etc and will want to convert them to epubs, you now only have one week before amazon kills your ability to download its ebooks www.theverge.com/news/612898/...
Amazon’s killing a feature that let you download and backup Kindle books
It’s bad if you like to keep ebook backup copies.

Brilliant last question by Krishnan, excellent answer by Omar.
Also, why are folks still calling the genocide a ‘war’?

Public service reminder: not all organising happens on social media.

In fact, some organising can only happen off social media/by redirecting energies to offline & in person collaborations.

Sometimes the activism churns below the surface.

We called for solidarity when Hungary's govt targeted bookshops over queer stock, & again when feminist bookshops were targeted in the UK, & we relied on solidarity when our own booksellers were harassed into closing:

Book lovers must stand together against persecution of ALL book workers!
Palestinian booksellers detained in handcuffs by Israel, Mahmoud & Ahmed Muna of The Educational Bookshop in occupied Jerusalem.

This can't be set aside from Israel's scholasticide, destruction of libraries, schools, universities in Gaza.

Look at the yellow card timer. The try was ‘scored’ when Adams was on the park. Officials missed it. Grrrr.

As disrupters and their hingers-on are driving mainstream agenda to extremes, a new movement of anti-disrupters is born.
I think the war will be won in the trenches of cafes and other such cosy places by talking to friends and acquaintances. Most folk want to be human - and loved - after all.
