I’m not trying to throw shade at you if you do, but using AI like I use other technology (the internet, electricity) has just never seemed worth it to me, and it honestly feels like that won’t ever change for me.

Real talk though: nothing makes me feel more alienated from my species than AI use.

I’ve never used ChatGPT or any other AI app, nor have I even really been tempted to.

We had a fantastic day at Koksilah Grove, located in Cowichan Tribes territory, with an incredible group of youth from the Intercultural Association (ICA).

We have billions worth of private sector & First Nations led projects, that are ready to go and will create thousands of jobs.

We joined hereditary leaders from Wet’suwet’en and Gitxsan, the City of Victoria and Stand.earth to speak at a press conference to kick off the fall session of the BC Legislature.
We’re calling for respect for First Nations rights and title and real climate action, not more subsidies for polluters.

Totally. The California’s are big and powerful in their own right, but the stellers are just so huge. It’s neat that they share the same dock too —they occasionally trade barks and snarls, but other than that stay out of each other’s affairs.

Took my kid down to visit our grouchiest neighbours after school pick up yesterday.

These things are absolute units, with horrific breath and even worse attitudes. I love them.

My kid Nina looking at some big chonky stellar sea lions at the marina near our home.

An absolute unit of a stellar sea lion, basically Jabba the Hut of the ocean, at the marina near our home.

A little further down the same dock, a big group of California sea lions laying on the dock and screaming about their grievances. The two species trade calls, but don’t really mess with each other other than that.

People clapped and she gracefully blushed and smiled at me. I got back to my talk, and at the end of the action she drifted away so as to not take away attention from what we were doing.

In 2015 I was speaking at a demonstration at the COP21 climate summit in Paris, and an elderly couple walked up and joined the crowd that was listening. I recognized Jane Goodall, and immediately froze and couldn’t talk.
