this was such a lovely story--the structure, pacing, and prose are so tight. it doesn't shy away from the reality of war and rebellion but it has such a tender core of compassion to it

I once took a 3-day Amtrak across the country because I was scared of flying and ended up conceptualizing, outlining, and partially drafting an entire novel during those three days 🤩 So my unhinged writing advice is to book that cross-country Amtrak and get to writing!
