For a v long time, I conflated "person who can make good art" with "person who has a functioning moral compass." I think that transference (based on appreciation, love, enthusiasm) is something a lot of us do. It hurts a lot when we find that our appreciation was hijacked so someone can do bad shit.

Okay sure, but what folks fail to understand is that institutions have inertia: they keep going in the direction of the accumulation of habits from previous actions.

Replacing a leader won’t matter: you need to replace enough people that the habits of the institution changes.
Imo, Schumer is an antique that needs to go. He comes from the generation that enabled that, we need leadership who isn't from that generation, doesn't think like that and will hold accountable those who run rough over civil and human rights.

“I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” Longest song title on my favorite album of all time, and an absolutely genius song. (U2, Joshua Tree)
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

Hey folks!

Due to a series of unforeseen expenses, I need to raise some cash before royalty season rolls around at the beginning of April. Because of that, I am going to do something I don't usually do and offer paid mentoring sessions for aspiring writers.

JFC. There were babies in this crowd. It was a peaceful march.
Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

The amount of hairspray my teenager uses on her bangs is truly astounding. Also a little alarming.
