At the same time, such a reply feels justified when I realise I still severely overestimate how well understood this fact is. This is not metaphorical or rhetorical, gentlefolks. Birds aren't just 'related to' or 'descended from' dinosaurs; they _are_ dinosaurs. As surely as humans are mammals.

I also find myself keeping in typos, resorting to acronyms and slang I don't use irl or in long form text to keep my post as small as possible.
I mean really this is all part of a bigger problem with peoples attention spans and 🌈capitalism🌈. But I can't help but get really annoyed every time

when I'm typing a random thought and it exceeds the character count by like 10 characters. Getting rid of some words takes away the nuance, but adding to the threads guarantees people won't get the whole context.

Creating large threads is just ugly and disorganized looking, but also I hate this so much cause it doesn't leave room to discuss anymore. Now that people are accustomed to it, they don't read beyond the first post. I see it too often when someone is asking a question thats already been answered

One problem with this site that carried over from the very beginning is that, like the previous one, you get an extremely limited number characters to write. Like come on. Sure threads are a thing, but this is a great way to either completely butcher your message or enabling cherry picking of posts
