As newsrooms shutter and paywalls rise elsewhere, public media delivers critical, unbiased reporting without fear or favor. That's the promise of a free press in a democracy.

Calling the press “fake news” is harmful. Calling them “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” for publishing reporting is something else entirely. Treason is a capital crime. Suggesting journalists should face it for exercising their First Amendment rights and doing their jobs is dangerous.

The only reliable data we are going to get on this stuff now comes from the private sector. bsky.app/profile/atru...
🚨 CNBC on latest jobs numbers: "A big miss on ADP payrolls. The private payroll company saying private payrolls shed 32,000 workers in Nov. That's the 4th negative number in past 6 months. The estimate was for +40,000, so the street was off ... this may be coming from being hammered by the tariffs"

CNBC: "This data would suggest this is US companies, US consumers paying these tariffs ... that's part of what's been dragging down the economy ... I don't think we have a booming job market"

This is disgusting.
"It is so depraved to have these torture fantasies about essentially anonymous Venezuelans."

Here's something everybody should be paying attention to: Congressional Republicans are trying to weaken the Affordable Care Act and put millions of people at risk of losing their health care. Call your Senators and tell them we can't let that happen.
Shhh. Republicans are trying to repeal Obamacare again. Sort of.
They’re not branding it an Obamacare repeal this time around, but congressional Republicans are pursuing cuts to programs that are part of the 15-year-old health-care law.

I tried trout fishing the other day. Turns out, it’s a lot like all other freshwater fishing, but with a gorgeous, flowing river in front of you.

I tried trout fishing for the first time today.

Tangled the line and had to cut and retie it four times.

Tried four different rigs.

Caught nothing.

Cared not one iota.

About 250M years ago, 90% of species on Earth died during the Permian extinction. All of that loss created a lot of vacant niches to fill.

Not long after, the first mammals, our ancestors, appeared.

Every year my family writes down funny moments, quotes, major life events and memories, at the end of the year we get together and throw them all in a pile and read them out loud

It’s one of my most favorite things.

Start a memory jar 💙
