trimet.org
We know you depend on us.

Unfortunately, without additional state funding and other revenue, service cuts are necessary to balance our budget and keep TriMet financially sound.
trimet.org
In addition to administrative cuts already under way, we need to reduce service beginning in November 2025.

Service cuts are always our last resort, but by reducing spending now, we avoid more severe cuts down the road, which would affect many more riders.
trimet.org
So far, we've been able to cover this budget gap with our reserves. But that money will run out.

To ensure we can continue delivering safe, reliable and convenient service into the future, we’re taking action now to match our expenses with our revenues.

Weigh in on Planned Bus and MAX Service Cuts

As you may have heard, TriMet is facing a serious budget shortfall. After years of rising costs and less money coming in from fares, our expenses are now greater than our revenues.
trimet.org
These close calls were easily avoidable by following traffic signals & looking both ways before crossing train tracks.

Make sure umbrellas, hoods or other clothing don’t block your view, and turn down the volume or remove your headphones so you can hear if a train or bus is nearby. #RailSafetyWeek
