Nazi Hunters

On my recent travels I picked up a copy of the inimitable Guy Walters' Hunting Evil, published back in 2009 this will provide an invaluable reference for my ongoing Nazi Hunters project.

Where's Wally

Believe it or not but Rhineland is in there, my thanks to fellow historian Iain MacGregor for sharing. His very fine The Hiroshima Men is a lot easier to spot! @ospreypublishing.bsky.social

Reading Waterstones

What a simply gorgeous bookshop - it looks like a temple! Its actually an old chapel and its stock is enormous including the military section...

A delight to be back with the BMMHS last night speaking to a full house, the Q&A lasted longer than my actual talk. Always a good sign! @penandswordbooks.bsky.social

Churchill Society of Italia

At the recent conference it was very nice to receive personally signed copies from my fellow authors - the Churchill pocket handkerchief was also a rather nice touch from the sponsors. I shall definitely be using that in the future.

During the conference panel discussions it was a pleasure to meet Marina Churchill, one of Winston's great-granddaughters and fellow Churchillian Gabriele Genah. Behind is the Battle of Lepanto!

Nazi Hunters

Well making good progress at the coalface. Have started writing chapter 9 looking at Operation Damocles, initiated by Mossad chief Isser Harel to kill Egypt's rocket programme using German V-2 scientists. It's very public unmasking cost him his job but succeeded.

Forgotten Indian Prisoners of WW2

Just finished this. What an amazing achievement for a first book - meticulously researched, insightful and nuanced. It shines a much needed light on the fate of the Indian Army in Southeast Asia in 1941. @gautamhazarika.bsky.social @penandswordbooks.bsky.social
