Congress has ignored the federal law requiring hanging in the Capitol by 3/2023 the plaque promising never to forget the heroism of those who risked all to defend Congress’ members and the Constitution. This essay by the great Jamie Raskin makes good on that promise.

Question: Did anyone from the White House, including President Biden, ever tell you they expected you to bring charges against Donald Trump?

Smith: No.

There was a liberal court for a few years in the mid 20th century and the right wing response was to delegitimize for DECADES right up to the point they had a supermajority, at which point it became Wrong to do so. These people think you are stupid bsky.app/profile/chri...
NEW: Jan Crawford's attack on SCOTUS "corruption" narrative was its own substance-free narrative.

On Face the Nation, CBS News's chief legal correspondent went after Supreme Court critics as "dangerous." And yet, her court defense was completely lacking in specifics.

This seems closer to kneejerk worship of authority than any principled defense of norms. I mean, the Court is sweeping aside longstanding norms almost every week, while partying at the resorts and hunting lodges of the modern Trumpist planter elite, and Crawford calls for us all to just ignore it

Max's reaction sums up a trend I'm seeing: After 2024, liberals don't care about being Norms Defenders because there are no votes there. They're gonna sit there and venerate SCOTUS while Trump/Bondi accuse any judge who rules against the admin of having TDS and hating America? Nah
I would point out that Crawford has long seen her job as justifying whatever Republicans do, but I don't have to, there's a convenient label that shows a person's statements are unreliable and unworthy of consideration: "CBS News."
