And I'm happy about this, because we now have three great Tron movies and, hopefully, more to come!
turkishmeatchugger.bsky.social
Also, when you go see TRON: ARES, definitely go see the IMAX 3D version. It looks amazing!

There we go. I know recency bias is clouding my judgment a bit, but it's been a while since I walked out of a movie feeling so glad that it exists, and leaving me looking forward to getting the blu-ray.

I'm curious, though. People who are bashing TRON: ARES--what were you expecting? This is first and foremost a Tron movie, and a very good one at that. It was obviously put together with care and love for everything that came before. As a Tron fan, I'm just happy this movie exists.

Greetings, programs! I’m here to tell you TRON: ARES fucking rules! I loved every fucking second of this thing!

Your monthly reminder that, yes, I'm a DIE HARD 5 apologist and, in fact, I feel I appreciate more and more as I grow older--while becoming more and more intolerant of DIE HARD 4. Don't get me wrong, as Die Hard movies, they both suck. But at least 5 is fun in an EuropaCorp kind of way.

I ended up adding a subplot in this revision--about a corrupt City Hall staffer trying to cover her own tracks during the chaos of the day, and while I'm loving it, it's also disconnected enough from the main storyline that she's starting to feel like Scrat from the Ice Age movies.

Haha, I didn't know that. That's awesome. I'm getting excited about checking it out.
turkishmeatchugger.bsky.social
Ah! This is good news! You're getting me excited about checking it out.
turkishmeatchugger.bsky.social
I've never seen ORPHAN BLACK. I rarely do TV, but for Tatiana Maslany, I'm tempted to check it out. Although I didn't even watch SHE-HULK, and that's a miniseries. As much as I love Maslany, I really struggle with TV.

I always get excited when I see someone on here coming across BOSS LEVEL and discovering just how fucking awesome this movie is. Easily one of my favorites of the 2020s so far, and I hate it that I had to buy a Canadian blu-ray because there is no American release yet.

Oooh, I didn't realize you also wrote fiction! I'd be very interested in reading something like that from you!

I canceled my pre-order of Shout's release of HARD BOILED. It's unnecessarily expensive, and the artwork sucks. I'm gonna wait for the eventual Arrow Video release.

Any idea if this has hard-coded subtitles? That's one of the reasons why I dislike German discs, heh. I'm very, very wary of German discs. But RICOCHET in its original aspect ratio, in HD, sounds too damn tempting.

But I really have no idea where you get the impression it's trying to be serious. Movie is silly as hell, and proud of it. That's what I love about it the most, that it refuses to take itself seriously.
turkishmeatchugger.bsky.social
Yeah? It feels like we watched two different versions of TRON: LEGACY.
turkishmeatchugger.bsky.social
You think so? The first two, in my opinion, are super silly, and that's part of their charm for me.

Tickets acquired for tomorrow. And I am excited!
