In addition to protest marches and rallies, we have many other options for peaceful resistance to the authoritarian regime.

These two web sites outline many nonviolent strategies. You can choose the ones that work best for your community.

With a military invasion of #Chicago taking place it's hard to focus on research showing needs of our youth. Read my #Tutor #Mentor blog articles. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2025/04/usin...
This is an article on the Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) blog featuring a report from A Better Chicago, titled "State of Chicago Youth 2025".

I've been collecting and sharing similar information for over 30 years, showing where people need extra help, why, and what type of help could be offered to youth via organized, on-going, volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs.

Just focusing on erasing the memory of Drump won't change the history of racism, greed and religious zealotry that enabled him to come to power. That has deep roots. I don't know how the nation will ever overcome this. But, I'm certain there are smarter people than me looking for solutions.

We've forced other countries to accept US military bases on their territory. Now it looks like it's happening to us. Really sad state of affairs.

We've all heard that there is no free lunch.

Well, guess what?

There is no free 747 either.

I wrote about #networkBuilding in this #Tutor #Mentor post. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2025/08/mapp...

Who are all the people w/in a geographic area who are working to achieve this vision? My article focuses on mapping participation to strengthen work networks do.
This is a graphic created by Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present). It emphasizes the 12 years it takes for each child to grow from 1st grade through 12th grade and the need for school, and non-school, support, especially for kids in high poverty areas who have limited exposure to the many opportunities available to them.

This article shows the four-part, information-based strategy launched in 1993 to get more people involved in helping ment-rich programs grow in high poverty areas, helping more K-12 kids move through school. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2024/08/adop...

These four steps can be applied in any place.
This graphic shows a concept map created by Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present). The map shows four steps in an on-going information-based problem solving strategy intended to get more people involved in helping youth in high poverty areas move through school and into adult lives with jobs and careers that enable them to raise their own kids free of poverty.

My goal for past 30 year has been to draw attention & resources directly to youth-serving #tutor #mentor programs in the #Chicago region. Lists on my website aim to help people find programs throughout the region. www.tutormentorexchange.net

Anyone can point their network to my lists.
This shows the HOT LINKS list on the left side of the www.tutormentorexchange.net website, hosted by the Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present).

Highlighted are pages that have links to Chicago area tutor/mentor program accounts on various social media platforms. The goal is to help programs share more of what they do and for volunteers, parents, donors and media to use this information to choose who to support.

I posted this article today at mappingforjustice.blogspot.com/2025/08/expl...

Explore the data platforms that I share then create your own map-stories. Share them on social media. #datavix #mapsky #GIS
This is an article on the Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) MappingForJustice blog.

The headline is: Explore the maps. Create your own stories.

I've been using maps since 1994 to show where Chicago area kids need extra help based on the level of poverty and inequality in the areas where they live. This blog was created in 2008 to show maps my organization was creating. Since 2011 the blog has shared maps created using our interactive map-based Chicago Tutor/Mentor Program Locator.

The Program Locator has only been available as an archive since around 2017, so the blog has been used to show data platforms hosted by others.

The article features a concept map showing some of the platforms found in this section of the Tutor/Mentor library.

I was driving to work in Chicago on 9/11 when I heard the first news of the attack in NYC. This concept map shows the work I was focused on. Despite more tragedy in the news, this still needs attention. cmapspublic.ihmc.us/rid=1SV6LFW4...
This is a Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) concept map. On the left is a "mentoring kids to careers" arrow/ladder, showing help kids need at each age level. At the right are many other issues that make this more difficult for kids in high poverty areas than for others.

Step 1 of the plan:

Turn the justice system into a political witch hunt operation that punishes critics for free speech and immunizes loyalists for actual criminality.

I voted for Kamala Harris. I was stunned that she was so soundly defeated. I hope many feel terrible about not supporting her, but that won't change what happened. What will you do in the future?

Sadly, too many continue to be fanatic Trump supporters.

Didn’t like her voice
Didn’t like her laugh
Didn’t want to vote
Couldn’t vote for a woman
Couldn’t vote for a black women

If we want more and better non-school programs reaching K-12 youth in all high poverty areas we need to Influence what donors, policy-makers, media and others do.
