This is kinda the thing I bring up with animation too, where their version surge of stuff was to replace inbetweeners, etc and you gotta remind people who look at budgets all day that you’re replacing people there
the discourse on what jobs are acceptable to replace with generative AI reveals a lot about what we think of other people's jobs

One of the best paleoart pieces I've seen. Great way to start 2026

New material of Ajkaceratops cements its identity as a ceratopsian, but adds a new wrinkle. It turns out that many european ornithischians previously classified as iguanodontians may actually be ceratopsians! New paper by @tweetisaurus.bsky.social et al., that I provided art for (link in reply).

Out in @nature.com today, we shake up the ornithischian family tree. Remember those weird Late Cretaceous iguanodontians, the rhabdodontids? Well they're weird because they aren't iguanodontians. They're ceratopsians. Well, at least some of them are... www.nature.com/articles/s41...
A hidden diversity of ceratopsian dinosaurs in Late Cretaceous Europe - Nature
New results indicate that rhabdodontids and the previously described Ajkaceratops are actually distinctive European ceratopsians, a group better known from Asia and North America.

THIS IS HUGE!!
A shake-up of the dinosaur family tree! Rhabdodontids are not ornithopods. They are ceratopsians.

There were horned dinosaurs in Europe! As shown by a new fossil of Ajkaceratops from Hungary!

This is a ridiculous way to run a business, which is why after I turn this book in I'm not doing it anymore! I can't spend the rest of my career arguing with editors about why I'm physically incapable of drawing ten comic pages a day.

An hour to a few decades. But "a few decades" fails the "posting" requirement, doesnt it?

Why would one make art just to be posted - consumed - and forgotten, anyway?
hey artists on bluesky, how long does it take you to finish a piece to post?

I could play Prehistoric Kingdom finally!

I wanted to create a shared exhibit with Tarbosaurus & Deinocheirus not killing each other

Tarbo needs tons of area. Deino needs at least 50% of it under water..

Had to submerge an entire spare area otherwise Tarbo would soak with no dry land to walk lmao

What does my just finished chapter look like from 10,000 feet?! It started by looking out & looking in, wrested with something from nothing, & led to the birth of the stars giving rise to all that makes us possible. Fun to see black/white contrast all at once a first time... #Nostos #Unflattening 2

Absolutely appalled to witness a TV ad in which they try to convince you that...

...kitchen is your peaceful oasis, washing dishes is meditation and restoring your balance or whatever...

All thanks to an *AI* kitchen electronics?
Apparently?

Amazing game, huge inspo for me
The #RandomGameSaturday for me today is Oddworld Abe's Odyssey for the PC!

I was obsessed with this series ever since playing a PSX demo of this one, up to Munch's Oddysee; which felt like some crazy subversive art future to me while anticipating its release.

A unique game not sure if it holds up!

I... Probably should that do too. Or play a game. It's not healthy to be worried 25/7 and follow the news. The mind needs some peace to function properly...
Just in case anyone out there feels like they shouldn’t post art - please do. The constant bullshit from the news is difficult but we can’t allow all of that to stop us from making art and sharing it. That’s all I have to say rn - am planning to enjoy the rest of my weekend working on sketches.

In the US as in the EU, everyone has shifted further, further, further to the right, and we are now paying the price for it. And we - all - are going to regret it very much, because without the rule of law, democracy no longer exists.

Fandom needs interaction to thrive, if u want to keep enjoying art, fic, edits, animations, silly little hcs, and all of that gud stuff, give some of the love back that creators pour out for you, fandom shouldn't be /content/ to mindlessly consume, let it be a dialogue of love and appreciation 🙏✨❤️
I think a big fandom shift in interacting with stuff has gone from people commenting under the created thing whether it be fic or art to people linking it in private discord groups where the person who made it will never see any positive comments left on the thing they made.

Yesterday, I bought a big chunk of oscypek and forgot about it.

After a few hours I opened my backpack and noticed that it leaked over my sketchbook.

Props to the thick cardboard cover that soaked it all but damn. The salty smell emerging from my sketchbook is breathtakingly overwhelming😰

* Fail more and fail often

* Have fun
What are your art ambitions for 2026? Make sure to post them here so we can publicly shame you if you achieve none of them!!
