Yes I see. It's true of course, people being vaccinated, especially children, has an effect far beyond the tip of the individuals nose. This is a well understood effect.

The thing is though that only hardcore MAGA pay ANY attention to what he says. The old people who may die due to his advice are dedicated Repub voters.

Abolishing the filibuster right now would make the country MORE fascist, not less. It is just about the only tool we have to limit the excesses of MAGA that is actually working at the moment.

As such, and taking into account the claimant's known predilections, it appeared to be an attempt to soften some of the harsher elements of the Bible in order to appeal to more modern sensibilities. I assume I was mistaken in this case. Thank you for the reply.

I'll admit to a lack of education on this one. The last time I saw the idea presented that the "rod" meant not physical punishment but rather guidance in the style of a Shepherd's crook, it was poorly presented and the source was known to be lacking in objectivity.
