That's some of the worst clock management (from Pitt) that I have seen in a while. Truly awful.

We are Sandkings.

Umm, odd numbers aren't irrational?
December 26, 2025 at 7:00 PM
You should probably know though that I really don't have a settled opinion on this. The only reason I responded at all was because the argument being made originally for Standard Time to be permanent was just poor. Bad reasoning pops my bubbles.

Ok first of all, Mansplaining? That's not what that word means and I don't believe I was responding to a woman at any point in this thread until now.

Further, the issue of children going to school in the dark is a real one, I acknowledge. I have children of school age so of course. (1)

Neither of these teams has any chance at the title. But that's OK, at least half of the teams in the CFP don't.

Furthermore, the idea that having noon be neatly bracketed by equal hours of daylight throughout the year is somehow "healthier" has no basis. We don't schedule our days such that noon is the middle, what sense does it make to fix the clocks so that they do?
December 19, 2025 at 11:39 PM
That's my point. We do NOT as a society schedule our day's activities such that there is an equal amount before and after noon. For most of us our lives are heavily weighted towards the later parts of the day, for various reasons.

While true, we also do not adapt to Standard Time. We do not keep the schedules that our ancestors did, which we best adapted to, in either scenario.

It could easily be argued that DST puts us closer to the schedule we evolved under, and is thus healthier.

Hello there!

In another life I run a used bookstore. Or a library. Or maybe I just say "Ook" a lot...

Bill Belichick, UNC's head football coach, has a contract that guarantees him $50 million over 5 years.

Hit me.
December 17, 2025 at 9:48 PM
It distresses me that it came so cheaply. $1.1 million? That's all it took for you bastards sell out the nation's health?
December 16, 2025 at 6:03 PM
I don't think I understand what you are trying to say here.
December 16, 2025 at 4:07 PM
That's uncanny.

Washington Capitals fan here, but also Crystal Palace so there's a certain symmetry there.

His "Executive Order" does not in any way take precedence over any laws the states implement to limit AI data centers.

THIS Eric Cantona? As a Palace fan I object.
December 8, 2025 at 9:41 PM
Considering. That's classic Democratic weasel wording. The kind of thing Schumer would say just before complete capitulation.

I hope he does it.

Help me out here.

Spotify is for streaming music. Bandcamp, near as I can tell, is for purchasing music. How can one act as a replacement for the other?

He can pardon him before he's charged.

They didn't get pardons. Hegseth will.
