I put off getting a Cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) for 2 years because of logistics and cost. It was a $3k test out of pocket and required travel to Santa Clara, CA. The other recommended location was Ithaca, NY.

Parents of newborns/young kids: ask for these vaccines. They save lives and protect against serious diseases.
The hepatitis B vaccine had been recommended for all newborns since 1991.

From 1990-2019, acute hepatitis B infections reported among children and teens fell 99 percent. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/16/w...
Breaking: After contentious debates and three failed attempts at a vote, a federal vaccine committee decided on Friday to end the decades-long recommendation that all newborns be immunized at birth against hepatitis B.

This is an incredible video about POTS / OI and encouraging doctors to learn more about it and believe their patients.

I hope you’ll take the time to watch it. 17 mins to learn and share with others.

Oof. At ER waiting to be seen because my symptoms have become emergent and the doctor still hasn’t looked at my CT scan results from last Saturday. This is ridiculous & expensive when a PCP doesn’t provide timely care.

I ended up drafting an email that didn't really lean on research specific to grade school education, but expressed my concerns in the most basic terms.

I removed the personal details and have shared it as a template here for folks who might find it useful:

Thought I would try again … still searching for a tested and loved recipe!
Does anyone have a favorite gluten free and sugar free apple pie recipe they love?

I’m craving apple pie for the first time since 2020 and am curious if I can pull it off. I can use substitutes for sugar like maple syrup, coconut sugar, and a bit of allulose.

I’m amazed by a thread going around here where people commenting are all blaming college students for being damaged by a society that sacrificed them for the economy during an ongoing pandemic in which 37% of the global population has long covid.

Society failed the next generation.

At the hospital to get a CT scan done and the check in person asks “why do you want the tech to wear a mask?”

I replied “I don’t have to give you a reason, the request is to wear a mask to interact with them.”

At a hospital. Masks should be mandatory given we are still living in a pandemic!

I mean I have been enraged about this topic for a while, but I had also never actually figured out how they calculate the poverty line.

I am legitimately speechless.
We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.

The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Which is why the rage.
