I don't mean this as some particularly advanced critique, but I've never once interacted with a generative AI product and been impressed with the results. Not once have I been wowwed or shocked or even intrigued. I haven't even heard or read any claims about their "potential" that seems of interest
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Sure Magic doesn't have, & likely will never have, direct Harry Potter crossovers in it. But it's pretty difficult to stomach putting money directly into a game which is the load bearing product for a company financing The Ghoul Rowling's anti-trans crusade.
