Just got My Hero Academia: You're Next BD, Ultraman Z BD, and Yu Yu Hakusho Vol. 9.

Biggest pet peeve is that my MHA movie BDs don't have consistent spines. Did not help that the 4th movie switched movie distributors. At least I got all MHA movies. Only 7 vols left for a complete YYH set.

I will not get sick and tired of saying this. Akane-banashi is easily, the best new ongoing Shonen Jump manga of the last five years. This week's chapter is an easy 10/10.

Reading more Hana Yori Dango. Can't believe that no HanDan adaptation, not even the anime adapted this story arc. I mean, Tsukushi got involved with a son of a politician! Tsukushi slowly realizing she likes Domyouji!

This is the kind of drama that I like.

For some reason, Disney+ here in the Philippines decided to finally synergize with US Disney+ as the Star brand will be rebranded into Hulu. Prior to the rebrand, all Hulu titles are under the Star branding.

Continued reading Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers/Meteor Garden). 46 chapters in, and the way Domyouji reacts to everything Tsukushi does is so overdramatic that it's juicy. This series would really thrive it gets adapted with the standard Philippine Teleserye format.

Done watching Yaiba: Samurai Legend. Minor pacing issues with some arcs aside (by that I mean arc went too fast), it's a really solid shonen anime adaptation of a classic manga that I remembered wearing a shirt of when I was a kid. WIT Studio adds this kinetic energy to a classic.

Done reading the Himitsu Sentai Gorenger manga.

The difference between the manga and the TV series is that the manga Gorengers all carry the Silver Shot pistols and fought giant ships and mecha, while the TV series Gorengers get to do more zany stuff. I prefer the TV series.

They made Shinmei blonde in the Gorenger manga. At least they were able to capture how pretty Miyauchi was in the 70s.

The way The New History of the DC Universe canon welded a lot of stuff is quite interesting. Like of course it makes sense that Jon Kent was conceived around the time Clark has no powers and was birthed in the One Year Later time skip.

Easily one of my favorite shots in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger Ep 67. Though 007 is technically not a Ranger, she is essentially, Gorenger's 6th member. Only thing missing is giving her a Ranger designation. This shot and the way Kaijo declared that the Gorengers to salute Daigoro is a nice touch.

The second KiRanger was killed by a monster named Can Opener Mask. Nothing against can openers. Can openers are sharp objects and the episode highlighted what makes him dangerous, but if you only read how the first Sentai hero died in the show, it feels too much of a dark comedy.

Watched Gorenger Ep 67. What's sad about Daigoro's death is that we have him for 12 eps and a movie as KiRanger but we barely knew him. Like he only exist as a placeholder while Daita is away. His heroic sacrifice was well written, but what killed him makes it a dark comedy.
