There will probably (hopefully!!) be a Hyundai equivalent to the Kia EV4 at some point, making it a sleek liftback a-la Prius would make sense from a product differentiation standpoint. That would be the spiritual successor to the original IONIQ.

The IONIQ was the precursor to the IONIQ lineup of cars but the IONIQ 5 wasn't intended as a replacement for the IONIQ.

The Hyundai IONIQ was released alongside the Kia Niro as essentially two versions of the same car with HICE/PHEV/BEV options for both, the Niro still exists because it sold well.

The refreshed 3 seems to hit the EPA figures finally in real-world testing so I would trust that figure, not sure about the rest of the lineup though.

The only good 3rd party site for installing software nowadays is ninite, beyond that there's no reason to not download from official sites *unless* you're looking for an old version of a program.

An Equinox EV 1LT will go much further for $5K less, an IONIQ 5 SEL is the same price as the Model Y Standard while being comparable to the $45K Model Y Premium RWD, AND it's a Tesla.

But it also makes the 30min 10-80% time of the Polestar 4 (sister car to Zeekr 001) even more absurd.

This is a significant upgrade from the 001’s previous 800V system. The result is significantly faster 12C charging, enabling 10-80% SOC in just seven minutes. Variants include an AWD version that offers 925 hp (680kW), accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 2.83 seconds to a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).

Rivian says they won't support CarPlay/AA as they want a "seamless digital experience" but all I'm hearing is "you're holding it wrong".

People want options, if you won't give them options through CarPlay/AA you need to give them options through 3rd party native apps at the very least.

I don't think Rivian is in a position to be so strongly against the *option* of CarPlay/Android-Auto when they lack any sort of native app store in the car for 3rd party apps.

If you want to seriously compete with CarPlay/AA you need to match their ecosystems, Rivian isn't doing that.
