Saw a post saying that a Norwegian Biathlete was cheating. I was very curious. How could you cheat at the Biathlon? Was he cutting corners on the skiing route? Did he illegally modify his rifle? Nope. He was caught cheating...on his girlfriend. Yawn.

Not enough people are complaining there are 2 rock bands with names that are WAY too similar: Goose and Geese

Its like if there was another southern rock band called The Black Crow.

(I really like Goose and have been disappointed several times when I hear Geese instead)

Playing around with some ATProtocol apps. Created a long form document publishing host. Fine, its a blog. But it took me like 2 mins to create. Continuing my blog from the early 2000s....

This commercial should motivate Ring owners to yank those cameras off their walls.
Here's that Ring #SuperBowl commercial:

How smug do you have to be to disparage a college student for HOW they celebrate? @joeovies.bsky.social has said this before and he's saying it again. Let the kids have fun and maybe keep the court storming litigation to yourself.

Letterboxd doesn't have a direct way to post my reviews like I want. This is the same thing, but using a more manual method:

This is the most recent movie I have reviewed in my Letterboxd list. Now that I have my reviews imported into popfeed.social I wanted to see what it would look like posted on Bluesky.
★★★ review of If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025) • Popfeed
An anxiety inducing fever dream of motherly guilt. Rose Byrne lays out all of her emotions for all to bear for both good and bad. Byrne deserves any award nominations this year. It's a raw performance that award givers usually like. On the other hand, the movie's story was more of an afterthought once the premise was laid out. We learn the characters and the details of this specific scenario, then... Well, the cameras just kept rolling. After the movie was over, I realized that the focus was on what the main character (Linda) was going through internally while the world was throwing some of the worst things at her and blaming her for her own circumstances along the way. I kept asking myself if people really are this selfish. Every person Linda encounters blames her for something. So much so, that it became almost (unintentionally) comical. While I sympathized for Linda, she also had no one that was emotionally generous for her.

Quick thoughts about possible targets for the Canes 1.5 hours before the NHL trade freeze

Robert Thomas - way too expensive
Artemi Panarin - TBL, FLA, DAL
Elias Pettersson - Possible. Probably after Olympics.
Jason Robertson - Less likely, unless a 3-team trade.

Go anti-woke, go broke?
1. Build huge subscriber base by telling them their $ supports democracy.
2. Don’t establish other revenue sources.
3. Rug-pull subscribers by pushing opinion side to the right.
4. Subscribers leave, revenue falls.
5. Enact crippling newsroom cuts.

This outstanding post about...the Washington Post, is buried in a thread. It needs more exposure.
All the smart newspaper execs left for real jobs that pay better a long time ago. Unlike the actual act of journalism, there’s nothing fulfilling in it. All that’s left is people who suck. If they ran a funeral parlor, no one would die.

Still working out the kinks of automatically posting my Letterboxd reviews. If I post it manually, I get the cool image. I lose the image with my automation. I'll figure it out some day.

I believe that every level of basketball should adopt the Elam Ending. Makes for better basketball by getting rid of the fouls, time-outs, free throws that makes the end of most basketball games a slog.

The Carolina Hurricanes should have WAY fewer Whaler nights. One home game per season should suffice. Zero would be better. Doing it this often makes it seem like it was mandated by a court ruling in the Hartford divorce. It is no longer special. #LetsGoCanes

I don't hate this. The Hurricanes could do a lot worse than Trocheck. He was the last good 2C they had. Guessing it would mean giving up KK and Stank to make this work. But I'll believe it when I see it.
David Pagnotta reporting the Hurricanes are inquiring about Vincent Trocheck. With NYR out of it, this trade has "inevitable" written all over it. We broke down the cap implications and why moving Kotkaniemi might be part of the deal.
