Some news to share: After 25 years, today was my final day at the N&O. I moved to Chicago in October, but I was commuting and working remotely until the paper ended that agreement as of today.

I knew when we moved the end was near. That was my choice. It was time. I just wish it wasn’t so abrupt.
(I don’t even know what happened now, nor do I care, but I feel it’s still my role to post the image as needed.)

Six seconds to go and Ricky Price got a shot off but kinda for sure.

Honestly drawing a blank … last UNC buzzer-beater to beat Duke?

(Walter Davis forced OT, that’s not it.)

Basically, the Austin Rivers finish, but backward.

Power move wearing the “renovate don’t relocate” T-shirts to the Duke game. Not that the booster/developers with dollar signs in their eyes will notice.

The Palestra pays tribute to Dan McQuade, “Defector/DP Emeritus.”

I wish the seat had been left downstairs, but I get there isn’t room.

Then again, on some days he liked sitting upstairs and taking it all in.

The 2006 Brind’Amour/2026 Staal parallels are only getting stronger: An unexpected power-play reappearance … sparking a turn-back-the-clock season in the late 30s … for a guy who probably already should have won a Selke by now.

Simply crushed today for so many amazing and talented people at @postsports.bsky.social. Felt really fortunate to even be a part-time/occasional teammate there for the last decade.

I will say my guess is that Jeff Bezos is not destroying the Washington Post out of a properly ideological crusade against freedom of the press but more likely out of a combination of boredom and pique that his interventions in the paper over the last eighteen months were unappreciated

Context on the Post absurdity:

I learned this first-hand after NC State went to the Final Four. Newspaper execs can no longer process what actually generates revenue/readers/clicks/subscriptions. They only see what things cost.

Sports is expensive … even if investment in sports pays back tenfold.

Update: With a 71-61 home win over La Salle, the Ramblers end a nine-game losing streak with their first win since Dec. 31.
For @thehoopshq.bsky.social, Loyola Chicago has gone from preseason A10 contender mourning the late Sister Jean to 5-17 and 318th in KenPom. It’s a precipitous, injury-fueled collapse for a program with unusually strong support and basketball tradition.

I read thousands of pages of Epstein files this weekend trying to understand what he wanted out of his meeting with 4chan's Christopher Poole. Here's everything we know about Epstein's plans to dismantle the internet and, eventually, democracy.
