Nobody knows anybody, not that well.
My good friend Gene Wang, who cannot share the news himself because his Twitter account was hacked, was among the layoffs. I know there will be others.

Nobody loved the Post more than Gene, who spent almost 40 years there. He would have done anything for that paper. It never loves you back.

All the smart newspaper execs left for real jobs that pay better a long time ago. Unlike the actual act of journalism, there’s nothing fulfilling in it. All that’s left is people who suck. If they ran a funeral parlor, no one would die.

I was literally told, “It doesn’t matter how much money we made off State’s run, you guys spent too much.” Absolutely no sense of perspective or growth or priorities other than “number go down.” The same kind of people are now flying the Post into a mountain.

I’ve always said evaluate leaning on WAB and other results-based metrics and seed leaning on predictive metrics.

The biggest issue with NET is that it tries (and fails) to be both.

The committee’s embrace of WAB is the most progressive thing it’s done since going to quadrants to improve geography.

To be fair to Gottlieb, he raises some valid points about context, but that’s more about the difference between predictive and subjective, which means his beef isn’t really with KenPom.

Sparty has now reached the level of the Duke game. Michigan’s big lead may already have been enough of a cushion but this figures to be a hell of a second half.
