Even as funding fell in 2025, UNICEF found ways to work faster, smarter and better.

But in 2026, the need remains urgent. Children facing conflict, displacement and crisis still need access to health care, education, clean water and protection — and flexible funding makes that possible.
Focusing on Children With the Greatest Needs — Wherever They Are

For decades, health workers have relied on a simple tool, the mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) tape, to diagnose a child's nutritional health using color-coded measurements.

Now, UNICEF has developed a new MUAC tape, designed specifically for infants from 6 weeks to 6 months old — and their moms.
