Responsibility-Driven Design Revisited | Domain-Driven Design London
Responsibility-Driven Design (RDD) is the key technique for splitting our system into co-operating objects. How do we use it with other techniques to apply modern DDD?

Ever wondered how quality attributes can improve your software? 🙌 Or even what quality attributes are? 🤔 I've added a new article to the #KnowledgeVault to answer these questions and more.

Yep. Hello regulation, goodbye autonomy.
uniquereplica.bsky.social
Please no. The enterprise information architecture community use that word but it comes from an origin where they try and get to base objects and a global model. It's the opposite of DDD where instead of encapsulating complexity you're spreading it unnecessarily.
uniquereplica.bsky.social
As usual you're not only well-read but well-written on these topics too 😊

Can't you get DP1 inside DP2?

To me this doesn't seem black and white. Eventually you end up with something like modern matrix management where its hierarchical but people are may be in more than one function and could be in more than one team, both functional and technical decomposition in play.
uniquereplica.bsky.social
@barryosull.bsky.social Thanks for sharing. The diagram for DP2 is awful! I dint feel I understand any better for looking at it.

@trond.hjorteland.com Is this analogous to hierarchical vs graph org structures? It reads as if DP2 is actually referring to a decomposition strategy as well.

Although in this case DDD doesn't stand for #domaindrivendesign I m hopeful that we can get some of the community together at some point during the event. Get in touch if you would be interested in saying hi and talking about systems and #softwaredesign.

"You don’t need a cutting-edge system to deliver most software requirements"

Think about this the next time some shiny, new, complex framework/tool comes around. I love working with "boring" technology for this reason.

Software Design: What went wrong? | Jacqui Read
Design should be a developer’s bread and butter. Changing how we talk about software under development is the start of building better software systems.

uniquereplica.bsky.social
As you might expect, @tekiegirl.bsky.social (co-trouble-maker at The Ministry of Software Design jacquiread.com) will also be supporting. We Look forward to continuing business as usual and hopefully bringing some new formats to our London community. 🎉

I am therefore thrilled to get the opportunity to contribute to the community in such an important way, and hope that we can both increase expertise and broaden adoption through our events.
