Indigenous Land Defenders started a prayer 🔥 in January 2025 to pray for our Indigenous families at risk to ICE.
Indigenous PDX activists have been erased from the narrative once again.
ManRed is a member of the Navajo Nation. He filmed me surrounded by PPB for praying.

this story is incredibly lazy and frustrating, esp considering a local indie reporter was *shot in the head* + protestors allege broken bones from ICE officers. but i guess a small cut behind an officer’s ear is what they actually mean by “if it bleeds it reads.”

Bullies or demonstrators? How court records are describing Portland’s ICE protests
Court records show a more nuanced picture of what federal officers have been facing.

Last night ICE continued their aggression against protestors.

Including throwing one demonstrator to the ground which caused a severe injury to the protestors arm.

Tear gas and rubberbullets were deployed during the arrests

Feds arrested Daniel, the Alaskan elderly man. He has been protesting ICE daily. Feds dropped Daniel off at the hospital after arresting him for urinating. When he was born, Colonizer put Alaskan Natives in gov. camps. Intergenerational trauma on Indigenous activists makes protesting difficult.

If any OHSU nurses or medics or other medics could help Daniel out with a really bad case of psoriasis outbreak.
He is at ICE day camp and night camp every day and night.
Thank you.
Daniel is an inspiration to me, a very kind man, and a modern day folk hero.

I am incredibly grateful for having the opportunity to meet him.

I am hoping he can find the medical care he needs for his outbreak.

So many ppl showed up at a Community & Public Safety Committee briefing on police/ICE/Portland sanctuary city code that they had to open up more than 2 overflow areas to accommodate everyone. This is the atrium inside PDX City Hall (council chambers are full.)
Is expanding rent control policies in Portland something you're willing to consider?

It's no secret that housing is one of the largest strains on families in Portland.
I agree.

A solid progressive voice in city government backed by boots on the ground action through grassroots organizing.

The progressive voice in government rings much louder with a community willing to be shot with riot munitions in order to protect their neighbors, as weve seen a lot of lately.
Filming on public property well marked clearly as press, is *not* impeding law enforcement.
Councilor Green,

I am a journalist who was shot in the head on Saturday by ICE with a 40mm tear gas grenade.

This could have killed me.

I am now in serious financial distress not to mention pain.

I am looking for support from both the community and city government while I recover/seek justice.

United Vision Reporter, Agata Sobieska was just shot in the back of the head by a 40mm tear gas grenade.

She is being treated now and is seemingly fine now.

This was done by federal police at the ICE office in Portland, OR.

If your goal is to uphold Portland's sanctuary city status, then supporting this encampment's right to protest is essential.
I have been covering the encampment on and off all week.

In my observation it is the single most effective protest against ICE in Portland.

It has severely hindered their ability to operate, and they waste munition after munition trying to do something as simple as a shift change.

City of Portland has posted these outside of the ICE Building on Macadam. Really? So much for being a "sanctuary city". It's all part of the same arm. City Councilors need to speak up and fight if they actually want ICE to stop operations here.
Our reporter was shot in the back of the head yesterday with a gas canister at the same location.

At the risk of not sounding like a fair and balanced news source:

Fuck ICE

This morning at the PDX anti-ICE encampment a man in civilian clothing came up and began assaulting demonstrators.

This happened just moments before federal police deployed flash bangs and pepperballs.
