This is a two-week-old hedgehog that my dog found on a gravel road when it was one week old. I kept it and raised it with the help and advice of a specialist. After it finished hibernating, I released my well-fed boy into the wild at eight months old. #hedgehog #rescue #animals #wild #nature

This is Lilly. I adopted her when she was 14 yo. She was born with ataxia and was never able to walk or stand. So I had to carry her around, 15 pounds of will and joy. She stayed with me for most rewarding 3 years. #dog #jack-russel #adoption #joy

Quite interesting for a broken tree. Smartphone image with some simple filters.
In a forest lies a loose pile of broken pine branches left behind after logging operations. Two large branches form an arch, and several thinner branches hang downwards like arteries; the ground is covered with needle-bearing branches. The colors are somewhat pale, and the image is blurred at the edges and in the background.

It's that time of year when mushrooms are growing everywhere, and their transformation is sometimes astonishing. Just look at the amazing shaggy mane mushroom (coprinus comatus). Also a little creepy.

Stage 2 of the life of the shaggy mane mushroom. The barrel has opend up and now looks like a hat with an black sticky mass at the rim of the hat. 3rd stage: the mushrooms cap starts to dissolve. Black ink-like substance runs down in thick oily strings.
