Thought I wanted to be a doctor. Pointed out to my girlfriend I didn’t like dealing w/ unhappy people, & she astutely noted “sick people are unhappy.” Next semester took organic chemistry & realized I could discover medicines to help human health & not deal w/ patients. Never looked back!

We're looking for a new colleague to join our department! USF is a member of the AAU with a growing Department of Chemistry. We're hoping to find an inorganic/materials science faculty member to come be a part of what we're building!

Absolutely gutted to learn that my mentor Amos B. Smith, III passed away yesterday. I can say unequivocally that I wouldn't have had my career without him and his mentorship, and I will be eternally grateful. RIP - heaven just welcomed an old country boy

J at work (1 of 2 antivaxxers) has informed me that she won't eat (among other things) girl scout cookies due to a chemical additive she refers to only as "the gas"
