Stranger in a strange land. Anime expatriate, class traitor, shameless cat dad. I’m just looking to riff with the cool kids. Dismantle capitalism. 🐝🧙🏽‍♂️ He/Him.
I once ran a Star Wars RPG session featuring a records office named Imperial System Habitation Tax And Registrations just so the name spelled “ISHTAR.”

The players broke in and hacked the records to steal a moon.

I’m not saying Thunderbirds couldn’t end broadcasts with “F.A.B.” merely as an excuse to allude to trendy lingo, I’m just saying if you want to be creative with acronyms you should pick an actual meaning behind them officially, like “fully acknowledged broadcast.”

See, we knew better things would be possible once trickle-down economics kicked in.

I’m sure we all remember the 90s were weird, but do you recall they were “Mortal Kombat 3 for Super Nintendo marketing material was full of 19th century philosophy quotes” levels of weird?

Wild how they’re still trying to make AR glasses a thing when Google Glass already proved there is no “sweet spot” where they’re both indiscrete enough to not be seen as privacy violators yet small enough to not look ridiculous.
Society neither wants hands-free hidden cameras nor goofy goggles.

Everyone knew but forgot about it two months later because nobody could hold anyone accountable over it.

“Laplace’s box? Was that the one where the only thing inside was an announcement for Peter Molyneux’s next game?”

I hate to say it but Fallout S2 gave me flashbacks to Caprica. Half a dozen plot threads & only a couple of them go anywhere, even then it’s all cliffhangers for a new conflict next season (at least we’re getting one), without much story/character development.

It’s not Rings of Power bad, though.

Zelda’s Adventure can be redone in the Echoes of Wisdom/Link’s Awaking Remaster engine. No voice acting this time, please.

2.5D cell-shaded remakes of Legend of Zelda of Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil, but replicating the watercolor art of Katsuya Terada.

He keeps looking like an 11 year old who wished to be “all grown up” and woke up this morning magically aged 50-something, struggled to put on one of his dad’s suits and is now pretending to be an adult for the first time.

The dichotomy fascinates me. It’d be like if every episode of Kissyfur ended with a roll to credits set to “Invincible” by Pat Benatar.

I mean, I’m loving it but they seriously did not have to go this hard.

Jon Stroll: “You want me to co-compose something fun & zany for your dumb raccoon cartoon?”
Kevin Gillis: “My dude… we are going to compose the hardest-hitting ballad of the decade for my dumb raccoon cartoon.”

Did I miss Groundhog Day? I was… occupied.

I love how the original Gundam‘s feet keep alternating between big flat rectangular hooves and pointy tennis shoes.

Wallstreet Journal polled 2000-ish CEOs (maybe 4 years ago?) who self-reported their work week included exercise and personal errands; excluding those tasks they worked around 30 hours a week on average, half of which was meetings and emails.

You’ll want the 2024 ones regardless.

5th is more like 4e than most people realize; it tacks on a lot of musty old subsystems and ditches a lot of keywords that made the game easier and more balanced to run, but the underlying math is there. I hear combat isn’t any faster despite the changes.

I’m only starting to unpack how weird it was growing up when they made kids cartoons & toys based on wildly inappropriate franchises.

Robocop. Rambo. Toxic Avengers. Tales from the Crypt.

I imagine if there was suddenly a Nickelodeon show for Saw or Game of Thrones there’d be a mixed reaction.

Me being me, I had a check to see if there’s a Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? board game, and it looks like that front is open to one of my favorite creative exercises…
