The Aethereal Echo is complete now!
This was a fun project, which took me way more than I hoped.
The ultimate Ping machine pings the Internet, displays ping time and monitors WiFi.
Inside, ESP32 configured using an Access Point and captive portal allows setting IP addresses of monitored servers.
The most annoying thing about listening to the traditional radio stations is that I cant rewind.

Fake Geiger counter but it looks convincing with my coffee cup! Can you see the sensor?

Whenever I see Cybertruck on a road, it feels like there is some Universe crack opening.
While I understand a need for a disruption, this thing seems to be made for individuals who say "fcuk you all" to everyone else.

In my damn Electronics feed I started seeing posts about cricket. It turns out that this is because of an acronym PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) 🤣.

Temporal Anomaly Clock.
The clock shows time with its local anomalies.
The sensitivity is set to 5 but "it goes up to 11".
I did not dare go set it that high.

While 65536 makes sense to me, 2^32 (4294967296) is beyond my consciousness. I do not recognize this number.

I do not recognize myself... I am becoming more and more abusive towards Gemini.
I know that it tries hard but why the f**k it keeps adding citations to the code???

I know how to control my neighbor's leaf blower! I can hack it at any time. I can turn it on whenever I open a window!

A comparison of #Meshtastic #LoRa nodes in rural and urban environments. It sounds like the use of LoRa for community networks is steadily growing.

Meshtastic: A Tale Of Two Cities
If I’m honest with myself, I don’t really need access to an off-grid, fault-tolerant, mesh network like Meshtastic. The weather here in New Jersey isn’t quite so dynamic that ther…

Interesting psychological implications of interacting with AI.
The news talks about people having "relationships" with AI, which seems possible given the human capacity for, well, anything.
I try not to anthropomorphize AI, but I caught myself doing just that.

Asked Gemini to replace print() with logging in an old Python script. It did, but then started refactoring my code unprompted. When I asked WTF, it replied: "I apologise. I got carried over..."

It is official: I hate GIT.
It is overcomplicated with questionable teminology, and I failed to learn anything beyond basics.
Bad merge left my code like a pile of streaming s**t, and I can't check out develop branch.
What are my options? Spend two hours fixing the code?

I ordered 20 of those connectors and received 280. I am trying to imagine how this might have happened.
1. Disgruntled employee packed the content of the entire bin.
2. One picker instead of taking one pack from a bin took entire bag and went for a lunch. Another one put the whole bag into a box..

I am in love with 1970s calculator bubble LED displays. Cuteness overload!
I am using HT16K33A breakout board because it is a damn common anode display.
I will add an RTC this time, but this will require a level shifter.

Sign of the age that compute is now a mass noun, like sand, rice, water, money. Too numerous to count, or to make plural.
