This is my toddler’s favorite book right now but this page freaks me out
Two pages of a children’s book, one with a high contrast black and white rendering of a child, and the opposite page with the same image but inverted colors. Red text below reads “children smile”

headline in my inbox: "The War on Tylenol". Except that it isn't? It's a eugenicist war on pregnant people, blaming them and their medical caregivers for autism, which the eugenicists regard as a fate worse than death. Focusing on Tylenol hides that fact.

All of this is ridiculous but it was kind of fun to see a meme be born in real time

One thing conservatives are gonna do is they’re gonna make sure pregnant people are suffering as much as possible—because, of course, they hate women and want them to suffer!

this also means that basically everyone takes it at some point during pregnancy because pregnancy is uncomfortable and also very dehydrating (I’m a headache girlie)

hey so tylenol is the only pain reliever considered safe during pregnancy so by saying pregnant folks shouldn’t take it (in addition to being based on dubious research) is essentially just telling them they can’t have pain relief

Isn’t a lot of what they’re expected to learn at that age those emotional and social skills? I know things like talking and early vocabulary are important, but I’d think that self-regulation is a prerequisite to pretty much everything.

I think we can definitely consider this and other ways to involve the community more. I would be curious to know how PSF deals with some of these challenges.

And yes, I limit replies and quote tweets because I don’t want to spend all my time moderating my bluesky, feel free to screenshot and dunk on me as you see fit.

Also, not for nothing, but the board is made up of volunteers trying their best and not some mysterious evil overlords. We felt this was in the best interest of the people who use our infrastructure, and we do want to work with the community on next steps.

Just to be clear, Ruby Central has not taken money from DHH/Basecamp.

Hi Mike! The nomination process is not secret, it’s a public form that is posted on our socials when we have openings. The current process is that the existing board interviews and selects the new members from those nominations, since they have the most context on the gaps we’re trying to fill.

The intention of these changes was not to shut out past maintainers but to protect Ruby Central and our role in the supply chain as we determine in collaboration now to move forward.

Hi folks, I am the president of the Ruby Central board. I don’t have time to reply to posts individually, but I do want to make clear that recent changes to permissions in our open source projects were done in collaboration with the organization’s leadership and not by one person unilaterally 🧵

An update in the case of a 21-yr-old Kentucky student charged with ‘abuse of a corpse’: The county coroner declined to answer whether the 'infant' in question was full-term despite confirming they have this info, and specified that 'infant' sometimes refers to fetuses:
