Daughters car ventilation not working 🙄. Other half who over 50 years has fixed and maintained everything from cars to long wheelbase land rovers, changed engines, gearboxes, welded, totally fed up at inaccessibility of cogent info on or offline for modern cars, Grandland. Grrrr.

Yesterday: I don't mind these dark, dreich days you know - they have their purpose, you catch up with stuff in the house and enjoy being tucked in and cosy. Today: Christ, I'm effing sick of these dark dreich days - you can get nowt done.

Morning Wulfies, a freezing, icy, cold day out there but am snuggled in and warm. And it's my birthday - a very nice weekend ahead, chilling with family today, maybe the coast, nice food and wine later, Labyrinth with daughter and g.daughter at local pictures tomorrow. And a son staying Monday🍾🥂

Off down into frozen wastes of north Durham to lead walk at Gibside. 17 turned up the easier walk yesterday. We'll see what stalwarts turn up today. My new Robert Plant cd with breakfast and papers today. He's good, Saving Grace are good but the song choice, not so great.

Off to drag the Xmas tree into the icy waste of a garden. That'll be today's work out.
January 5, 2026 at 2:01 PM
So today's excitement has been untangling light from Xmas tree, two lots, then trying to separate them to put away. Determined not to do my usual scrunching into a bag, unravelled them and wound each set into a ball. This is patience hitherto unknown to me.

Morning Wulfsters, just having cup of tea after leading walk at Gibside. Fresh to say the least, chipping ice off car this morning but up to 6 deg now - positively balmy. Have a great New Year's Eve and the best 2026

I agree - BP has been a good supportive friend to many on this site.
@pfrazee.com and @moderation.bsky.app is there anyway you can do me a favour and check the reasoning behind the suspension of the account @brexitpirates.bsky.social and provide that reasoning, as I've personally known them for years and the likelihood of a valid reason for a suspension is unlikely.

Oh dear Chris. And BBC.

Think we’ll all go with the OBR official, rather than you and your unprofessional biased nonsense.

Feel free to issue an apology and have a bit of a think. Maybe about the years of barely scrutinised *Tory* policies that got us into this mess.

Right. Breakfast. Other half away for week in Scotland for astronomy field trip. Off downstairs for a pot of coffee, toast, papers in front of fire. Then off to lead a walk at Gibside. Don't think weather is going to be too balmy ...
