We all put in for PMQ weekly ballot - and if unsuccessful & have an urgent issue we can “bob” - that’s how it works. He knows that but he assumes that the public don’t.

It makes me angry that Farage barely turns up for debates, takes little interest in most issues & then bleats he’s hard done by
This is classic Farage, all grievance and no graft. He’d rather play the victim instead of doing his job.
It’s Budget Day — and the South West can’t be ignored.
For Mid Dorset & North Poole I’m calling for:
• Urgent GP funding in Wimborne
• A 17-month 5% VAT cut for hospitality
• Scrapping the Family Farm Tax
Come on Chancellor — make our Christmas. 🎄

Yesterday marked a major step in my campaign to ban BBQ’s. I presented my petition, signed by over a thousand residents.

2025 has been the worst year on record for wildfires, with over 900 in Dorset. Disposable BBQ’s are often the cause.

We must act now before the next fire season starts🔥🌿

I joined Lib Dem colleagues across the South West this week to make sure our region isn’t forgotten in the upcoming Budget.

For Mid Dorset & North Pool I’m calling for:
📍 Urgent GP funding in Wimborne, where tight budgets are preventing our two surgeries from expanding and taking on new patients.

After serving on the Devolution Bill Committee, I worked with Jamie Oliver’s team and the @oha-updates.bsky.social to push a clause giving councils the power to restrict fast-food ads near schools and youth spaces. This is about protecting young people.

It was great to stop & chat to Julia and other @patrioticmillionaires.org The super rich can contribute more to our society - financially and through their many talents that helped their success.
I know Julia has contributed to the improvement of nature reserves in our area, hence proving my point

Come on, Chancellor — this budget, cut VAT to save our hospitality sector, revitalise our high streets, and help bring down costs for customers.
I speak to high street businesses all the time and they all tell me the same thing: Cut VAT.
I and the Lib Dems are calling for a 17 month 5% VAT reduction
November 24, 2025 at 4:45 PM
We need a VAT cut in Wednesday’s Budget to save hospitality and revive our high streets. We’re losing a pub a day and 80,000 jobs.
I’ve launched my Pub of the Year competition to celebrate locals and highlight the pressures they face.
Nominate at vikkislade.uk by 28 Nov.

Just a few days to go before the budget. Restaurants and Pubs across MDNP want to see Rachel Reeves Cut the cost of doing business & cut the cost of living too

This week I joined farmers protesting “Family Farm Tax” — and even met another lovely Vikki!
Our farmers feed us and support rural economies, but government taxes and cuts to young farmer support are making the job harder. Dorset’s farmers deserve real backing.

Today is Ask Her To Stand Day, celebrated each year on 21 November to commemorate the Qualification of Women Act 1918 — the law that first allowed women to stand for election.
We’ve seen real progress since then, with women now making up around 40% of MPs.

Purbeck School students told me transport is a major concern.
I am deeply disappointed that the Govt failed to accept that school transport should be available to 16-17yr olds living too far from their nearest school, instead choosing to make this a local council problem which is simply unfair.

Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Huntington’s are all neurodegenerative conditions and their impact is being deeply felt in Mid Dorset and North Poole.

With 27.3% of residents over 65 (compared with 18.9% across England and Wales), our community is disproportionately affected.

What I’m doing-

Out this morning with Lib Dem colleagues calling for a 17-month cut to 5% VAT to save our pubs and hospitality sector. We’re losing one pub a day and 80,000 jobs since the last Budget. If we don’t act now, we risk losing the businesses that hold our communities together.
We need to act now.

A really powerful question on International Men’s Day - huge respect to @lukecharters.bsky.social
👏"I'm joined today by Mike from York Mindfulness, a fantastic charity, giving men a place to talk."

"Will the Prime Minister, as a dad himself, agree with me that strength as a man means being open about our emotions and that we should never face into challenges on our own?"

I was on BBC South yesterday talking about cutting VAT to support hospitality. As a former hospitality business owner, small businesses is one of the things that inspired me to go into politics. That's why I launched my Pub of the Year competition, nominate your favourite by 28/11👉vikkislade.uk

I’m delighted to be joining the Justice Committee, with my first session taking place today.
As an MP, I regularly support constituents who feel the justice system hasn’t treated them fairly or could have served them better. Through this role, I hope to help improve confidence in our justice system.

Had a fab visit to The Purbeck School for the opening of their new Complex Communication Base for SEND pupils.
Met the Sixth Form Leadership Cabinet, did a Q&A with younger students, and heard student concerns about transport, which I’ll continue to campaign on.

Proud to stand with colleagues in urging the UK to honour its commitment to those fleeing oppression in Hong Kong. We must keep our promises to those seeking safety and freedom.

We need a 5% VAT cut to save our hospitality sector, revitalise our high streets, and help lower costs for customers.
We’re losing one pub a day.
As a former hospitality business owner, I’ve long campaigned to support this industry, raising the issue with Daisy, Lib Dem Dep Leader, at conference.
