I’m going to say this from having worked there. Jobs like this are jobs of passion for these guys and they keep all their profits. Having crafts they do in their own actually get them out of the slave labour the state benefits from and they personally profit more than the craftsmen who make the

They’re not worth that. I watched inmates making cowboy boots when I worked at the prison. $30 in material (tops) and 3.5 hours work time for custom designed and patterned boots. That’s no more than $165

Reading the story, they committed no crime. They researched a park and went there before opening time a couple of days. This sounds like a glorification of Islamophobia with no credible evidence that anything was amiss
