Extreme pedestrian, woke liberal union mob teacher and proud of it, she/her, SF
Just met my Supe, Stephen Sherrill. He either cannot name any schools in D2 or does not plan to join any UESF pickets in his district. I hope Lori Brooke will join us!

Here in SFUSD we call this kind of thing Fund 17
Apparently the Trump administration now has a ‘MAGA-style slush fund’ to fund far right causes across Europe.

Prayers up for the UESF Bargaining Team, you know the 250k+ salaried staffers who show up to bargaining today are going to be real, real mad about having to work on the weekend
February 7, 2026 at 9:17 PM
SF, don't forget to call your supervisor and ask which UESF pickets they'll be walking Monday. Staff, call your supervisor and your school's supervisor! Let's shame these goons into better behavior

SFUSD: Don't you dare use any district resources
Also SFUSD: Check your email Friday night, we have some fun intimidation surprises

When I watched Maria Su today, I was reminded of my Ksters, who also sometimes cry when faced with the consequences of their actions.

Of course, they're five.
February 7, 2026 at 12:18 AM
Sooooo just to lay it out, SFUSD proposes taking $850 of my paycheck and giving me $500 for insurance. The latest offer gives the district our hard-earned money to spend on consultants and that 13% executive raise
February 6, 2026 at 7:44 PM
The reason SFUSD hasn't released a bargaining memo yet is two-fold:
1. Maria Su didn't go, so they need to explain it to her
2. It's really hard to spin "We lied to the fact finders and showed up with a worse deal than before"
February 6, 2026 at 4:47 PM
Seems bad that SFUSD told the fact finders they were dropping demands (no class size limits) but were in fact not dropping them. SFUSD wants 31 kids in Kindergartens.

Imagine how negotiations would be going if we had a Mayor interested in a city that works for everyone
Child at the podium: “A woo woo woo.”

Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.

I'd like to thank Chris Mount-Benites for inspiring me to some remarkable personal bests. I couldn't have hit 350# for reps without your utter disdain for the 6000+ educators in the district
February 6, 2026 at 2:17 AM
Oh so the centimillionaire who runs a billion-funded Astroturf group thinks teacher strikes should be illegal? Wow I'm shocked

I feel like I should remind everyone that our Supe created a brand new cabinet-level role for communications despite the FISCAL CRISIS. The job went to someone left unemployed when Breed lost. It's not working out so great

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are

his net worth is $253.2 billion.
so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire
and then do it again tomorrow
and again the day after that
and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months

I really encourage ALL district officials making north of 250k (and currently demanding a 13% raise) keep running their mouths, please share more of your big thoughts and threats
Today we were told the CBO of SFUSD doesn't think we can last 3 days.
Speaking as a teacher who's willing to strike to win, I encourage Denim Dan to keep posting, SF's most private school parent is doing the Lord's work in firming resolve

Idk a dude who's never worked for a living pontificating about how parents need to work (to fatten his dividends) isn't it

Educators, if your principal (who will get everything we win) crosses our picket don't give them one extra second of your time ever again. Actions have consequences.
February 4, 2026 at 6:44 PM
SFUSD just had a whole emergency meeting about how their refusal to negotiate may cause a strike but @fitzthereporter.bsky.social is here to explain that it is in fact striking workers' responsibility to make sure only the workers experience hardship from their labor action

This nightmare will be back but good job everybody!

Also no one should believe the claim this contract was zero-cost. Not only has the district not accepted a gift of this size (the Board approves those too), nothing like this is ever truly free.

In midst of labor talks, SFUSD proposes deal with OpenAI — then backtracks
The heavily redacted OpenAI contract was put on the San Francisco school board's agenda — the removed without notice. Why?

Hey Maria! Unlike you, educators we need our paychecks to avoid eviction, starvation, etc. We too want to be in class, with our students. But we cannot do that without recognition and support.

Vote: 4-3 for the resolution (Fisher and Alexander no, Student Delegate from Lowell no).
February 4, 2026 at 2:42 AM
Turned on the Board Meeting and it's so cool Maria Su admits there are 50k students (enrollment increase, accurate) than 48k (decrease, inaccurate).

Also Parag Gupta wants to give the Deputy Superintendent an opportunity to lie about the size and legal uses of the reserve
February 4, 2026 at 2:32 AM
Anyone who volunteers at a school during a strike (should there be one) is a union-busting ghoul. You can't do it "for the kids". You do it because you don't respect the labor of the people teaching your kid.
