slowly, little by little. after almost a decade of adulthood i feel genuine pride in my work and who i’m becoming. i’m filled with purpose; i know i’ve earned this. it’s just… really surreal and beautiful, being able to come full circle, even in spite of all the hardships, obstacles, & overwhelm 😭💚

the cost of my gpa is sanity, social time, & sleep but it’s been worth it. i don’t think i’ll have much trouble with choices for my 4 year with my current academic record & resume/the portfolio i’ll have by the end of next year… narrowing down where to go is gonna be harder than ever

also worthy of note on the agenda of “keeping up with virgil’s academic adventures”: we’re officially halfway through the semester, & my current grades are a 100, a 98, another 98, and a 95!! i! am so tired!! but if i can keep the momentum i’ll boost my gpa from a 3.4 back to a 3.6! 🥹

my family’s judgement and discouragement has been grating to deal with but literally everything else has been so reaffirming. i know i’m on the right path again finally. it’s hard, daunting work, but nowhere near as daunting as living inauthentically was. plus its work i want to do, which helps

gonna take a slightly less intensive, 3 class load in spring, FINALLY taking a summer off, then next fall i should be ready to move on to my BFA... which means i have another year plus to figure out transfer/application stuff rather than only a few months, thank FUCK 😭 i was so stressed about it bro

had a really great meeting with my new advisor! she helped me configure how to extend my degree for another year (which i needed to collect studio/ARV credits) without messing up any aid & she was sooo encouraging about just… everything! definitely was the energy/guidance i needed at the moment 🥺
