“If you have a better option I’ll take it,” Jimin says as he begins pulling on jacket and gloves and cloak. After a moment, Yoongi comes to help him, his touch familiar as he helps lace his boots. Jimin swallows hard against the sudden lump in his throat. “Until then, I’ll go with the foolish and desperate hope.”
Yoongi snorts, moving on to his other shoe. “And you’ll trust us to tell your father.”
At that, Jimin does wince. “I have a letter,” he offers. Namjoon sighs and straightens up.
“You have to write,” he says, stern again. “And if anything happens, if anything changes or you need help—”
“I’ll send word. I promise.” Jimin appreciates the concern, he truly does. Even if he’s the one meant to be giving them orders, not the other way around. “I’m not that reckless.”
“That remains to be seen,” says Yoongi, pushing himself to his feet with a wince. Jimin puts a hand out to steady him, but Yoongi waves it away. “I really hope you’re right,” he says, quieter. “For all our sake.”
