I saw Swans last night + it was a combo of searing, white-hot wind underlaid by two basses & two drummers raining beats so powerful I could feel my heart vibrating from it. I kept thinking of this post. It was both together.

Fryers! @wfmu.bsky.social has arranged for your minds to receive correct & disciplined messages tonight from @jimthepoet.bsky.social while I am re-educated. Remember: Vocal Fry comrades ALWAYS report suspicious or treasonous content that does not glorify our Dear Leader (i.e., me) or our Workers!

Today in Terrible Tales of Teslas: picking up car at parking. Only exit is blocked by a Tesla - driver left & they can't move it. Why? It won't start w/o a pin code. Honestly no idea how long before I can get my car. At least the Tesla isn't on fire w/people autolocked inside.

at least i can smell you
on your underwear.

God Bless Laika, God Bless Poetry, and most of all, may God Bless America! Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

4.
humans are weird
they sneeze like i do
but don't lick their crotches

5.
empty couch seat
i look with honest yearning
for the okay

6.
if you're not going to
you could leave it on the floor
I would finish it

7.
pick it up
or leave it to turn to dirt
i poop regardless

The haiku of Laika McBodahberg, D.Ph.,dog of philosophy:

1.
smelled hot food.
i begged for an hour, but
got a walk instead.

2.
the door shut
they'll be gone all day and
left the butter out

3.
my face is itchy.
good thing my hind leg reaches
all the way up there.

In her mature years, she took up haiku. Her keen eye for the hierarchies of American democracy, her contentment with her lot in the American social order, her commitment to the menial job she worked at every day (using only her chin to hold the floor to ensure it stayed down) - I give you:

In that tradition I would like to offer the words of a humble American who sadly passed away 16 years ago. She was born in Staten Island in 1996 & raised with her 12 brothers & sisters. It was crowded in her childhood enclosure, where she often found comfort snuggling between the fridge & the wall.

...and we all know that American poets writing abt America have always stuck to deeply patriotic themes that uplift our national spirit. One's mind immediately turns to Allen Ginsburg's book America as an exemplar but the same is true farther back to Walt Whitman too.

Today is National Poetry Day in the UK. Because of the historic connections & ruptures betwixt the USA & UK, celebration of NPD is permitted (for now) in the USA so long as the poems are first & foremost American poems...
