An overcast #NewBrighton this morning with views of Wales and art on the lifeguard station.
Cubbin’s Green, a very blue Marine Lake, coffee at Dempsey’s (new to me) and finally Ashton Park and a display related to its heyday as a pre-Wimbledon tournament venue.
Damp underfoot this morning at #Royden. Coffee at Benty’s which apparently is closed next week.
Sandlea Park, then a bracing walk around the Marine Lake and coffee at Tanskey’s. #WestKirby
Autumn colours at #Royden. Water in the brook after last night’s downpour. Coffee at the courtyard.
Relatively quiet at #Royden this morning given it’s half-term. Still the occasional harlequin ladybird catching rays.
depends on how old (and hence big) the bear was? 🙃
Listened to Death of an Ordinary Man by Sarah Perry on BBC Radio 4. I guess every demise is personal and different but an important topic nonetheless 📻
Wander around a very blustery #WestKirby for the first time in a while. Did not know there was a pond on Cubbin’s Green.
Video of the godwits from earlier today. About a third of the number routinely present.
This week I’ll be listening to the latest from Liverpool band Circa Waves “Love and Death” which, despite the title, appears to be full of catchy tunes. 🎵
Small flock of godwits being harassed by raptor this morning #crapnaturephotography
It was surprisingly frisky for a while. Needless to say, a few hardy kitesurfers were making the most of it. Rather them than me!
Slightly chilly and damp visit to #Royden this morning. Fungi dying off on tree even as new clumps appear. Heron posing as ever. Coffee at the courtyard cafe.
Yes, it was pretty bad last week during the high tides but we persevered. The new path helps a lot through the worst part but it's not a substitute for suitable footwear when it's very wet.
Leaves on the line at #Royden Central and fungi continuing to envelop the silver birch.
Walked from #Thurstaston to YOT. Pleased to see the new path now usable. OTOH will be interesting to see how the clifftop path holds up over autumn and winter. Sky overcast but a good light for watching the ducks and waders.
Today’s totter around #Royden notable for numbers of ladybirds on fences and railings. A prelude to hibernation perhaps?
haha, me neither. this shot was taken from behind the gate!
