Yes...hence my confusion. "Is it the common name or proper name for the thing?" I had been operating under the thinking it was a proper name. I just learned it's ALSO common/generic.

I think making it so we can't just pack out stuff up and leave and go someplace else and pick a spot and live there whenever we want and making it cost a lot of money and bureaucracy if it's allowed at all has diminished us as a species

For folks with a food garden this year: save non-hybrid seeds. 🤷🏼 Swap 'em with neighbors. A blip on the difficulty scale and seed costs are going up. It's that time of Autumn. It's not immediate relief, but Gaia don't dance to our beat.

...Now there's an idea. Seed saving & exchanges like Pokémon. Catch 'em, train 'em, evolve 'em. Seed form, immature (baby plants), mature form. It's a thought.

The growing season is winding down here, but it's a good time to sow seeds that require stratification, which is a lot of herbs and perennials. This is the time for soil tests and getting new garden beds prepared for next spring.

The DC consultant class has fucked up our US Senate race again and you all need to stop snipping at each other. This is seriously the dumbest timeline. Graham has an anti-Semitic tattoo on his chest. He's not an idiot, he's a military history buff. Maybe he didn't know it when he got it, but he got it years ago and he should have had it covered up because he knows damn well what it means. His campaign released it themselves to some podcast bros, along with a video of him shirtless and drunk at a wedding to try to get ahead of it. The vault is open for the GOP to fucking crush any dreams we had in the general and literally everyone I know is fighting with each other on social media. We cannot be this painfully stupid.

Platner: no matter what, get that ink gone. Me? I'd call up the ass who recruited you to run for office & demand they pay a TRUELY diverse team of artists to design a cover tattoo to do it justice. Maybe some Iron Front arrows to bury it proper, like a good devil dog.
