Sadly true, Dr. Tisby. I pray that we can find a way to center Jesus in our faith. That's why I'm attending the upcoming "life through a Jesus Lens" conference in Nashville. There won't be any room for white Christian Nationalism if we keep Jesus at the center. jesusworldview.org/events/

At the Life Through a Jesus Lens conference in October, speakers will help us reflect on how
do we lead (Greg Jones/ Belmont Univ. Pres), how do we do justice ( @druhart.bsky.social ), how do we look at morality (ethicist David Gushee), and how do we do congregational life though a Jesus lens?
A flyer with the photos of speakers at an upcoming conference named Life Through a Jesus Lens. Speakers include Greg Jones, President of Belmon University, ethicist David Gushee, and speaker and author Drew Hart. The conference is hosted by the Rev. Charlie Curb Center for Faith Leadership at Belmont University and the Gospel and Our Culture Network. Go to Jesusworldview.org for more information

Americanized Christianity today often harms those whom Jesus loved and called us to love. Have you been concerned about how the Christian faith has been redirected from its primary calling to follow Jesus on the way of Love? Consider attending this upcoming Nashville [email protected]

Perhaps those of us who call ourselves Christ followers could avoid some of this baggage if we kept Jesus at the center of our faith.

An October conference in Nashville will explore this topic. jesusworldview.org

I loved reading this man's story. Thank you for posting. Yes, he and many like him are America.

2/2 - email to Ron Hart I believe all people are made in the image of God. And we should never joke about treating anyone as anything less. I hope someone who cares for you helps you see that comments like these are nothing to be proud of. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Here's the email I sent him: I know you have won awards for humor, but I - along with many other Tennesseans -find no humor in today's column in the Chattanooga Times Free Press. To make a joke about alligators eating people is offensive. I know you think it's funny because they are immigrants. 1/2

Don't wanna pay for rights to copyrighted works? Hm. Sounds like the early days of Napster.

Without Sam Stockard and others from @tennesseelookout.com and Justin from @tnholler it would be so much harder to keep up with news from the TN Gen Assembly.

@thetnholler.bsky.social Do you expect the bill to come to the House floor for a vote on Monday? It's hard to keep up!

Thanks, as always for your reporting from the committee rooms.

I attended the rally and it was inspiring.

✔️The Senate version of the bill requires school districts to check the citizenship status of all enrollees. This additional task will increase administrative COSTs in our school districts. Plus, I’m concerned how this info will be used.

(3) And, think about it.

🏠Even if someone rents, they are still paying property taxes. Because I can guarantee that their landlord accounts for this cost when setting the rental rate.

(2/)💲Bill supporters claim they are concerned about the cost of educating undocumented children. Schools are generally funded with sales taxes and property taxes. Immigrants buy things! They pay taxes on these purchases just like the rest of us.

(1/ )The TN Senate passed a bill that will bar children without legal status from TN public schools. The bill goes before the House Finance, Ways, and Means Subcommittee on Monday April 14. TENNESSEANS: write subcommittee members today! wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/Committ...

(3 of 3) This doesn’t have to be a left-vs-right bill. Some Republicans have already voted against this bill or the comparable one in the House as it has progressed through committees.
You can do the right thing now and vote against passage of SB 0836.

(2 of 3) You are a former educator. Please think about the outcomes if this bill passes. Is it really in the best interest of our state for children who live here not to receive an education? Principals and business owners in our state have expressed their opposition.
