Have you seen or are you part of the work that the Inger Mewburn has been doing on neurodivergence in research. There was a big survey that went out earlier this year I think.

Three stones have been moved and placed outside the bowl. There wasn't lots of water around ( and no reports of earthquakes) , if someone had been in my garden then they probably would have taken something ( like my apples - yup one year). I'm in the UK for reference- Any ideas - anyone??

One bowl is used mostly by the cat ( Horace) and the other ( white and in photo) on a slightly raised platform and is used by birds and insects. Both bowls have stones in them for insects to get at the water. Most wildlife ( and Horace) usually drink out of the river.

Off piste from Researcher Development - but I have a Monday mystery (which I do not have a solution to - so there is not going to be a grand reveal Poirot Style).
It's the mystery of the moving stones - a thread...
On Thursday evening my partner & I went out for 90 mins, I topped up 2 water bowls...

Thank you - they are excellent.
I've seen the reply about what the different flashes mean - thank you bsky.app/profile/drgi... .

One suggestion I've found is
Ask the question: “Before this person pushed my button, which one of their buttons might I/ survey have pushed?” This allows us to externalise and recognise it as the respondee's problem

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has had to process hate responses in an anonymous survey - my latest 'is to justify more administrators IT MUST STOP LEAVE US ALONE WE HATE YOU'
What techniques can we suggest for managing unprovoked anonymous rage? #PhDSky #AcademicSky

From the ever insightful Hugh Kearns www.ithinkwell.com.au

In a PhD you have to be a bit more assertive.
Ask questions
Propose solutions
Make a decision
Take action
Ask if there is anything you can do to help.
If you sit and wait you could be waiting for a very long time.

As an academic writing coach, here are the 7 mistakes I see supervisors and PIs make in the process of co-writing a paper with their PhD students or mentees.

A thread. 🧵
