It’s super interesting that Taylor said Elizabeth Taylor was the first song she wrote for Showgirl because it’s the only song where she expresses anxiety about the relationship ending

Blank Space is obviously satirical and in response to critics, but so is Shake It Off. Rep is the same I think and everything from Midnights (except maybe Karma?) is melancholy over synths. But even Karma is kind of a response to haters and not really about her being *happy* like Ophelia

Is Fate of Ophelia the first huge pop hit from Taylor that is totally positive lyrically? The closest I can think of are ME!, in which she talks about how annoying she is and actually pretty negative for a song about self love, and Style, which is about a relationship she knows is temporary

Trump has fired every person in the special education office in the department of education.

I’m absolutely disgusted. Those kids NEED funding and deserve a chance to learn and grow. They need supports and a chance at an education. Getting rid of those people immediately impacts them.
