WCS co-authored science has expanded the known range for a little-known bat species into La Moskitia, 1 of the Five Great Forests of Central America. Working with the local community and other partners, the scientists used acoustic monitoring to identify the presence of the chestnut sac-winged bat.

Today is the 120th anniversary of the founding of the American Bison Society—a conservation milestone that began at WCS’s Bronx Zoo in 1905.
