A reminder that tickets are now available for all my Halloween and Christmas shows at London's Dickens Museum! Choose from THE SIGNAL-MAN & THE TRIAL FOR MURDER, THE HAUNTED MAN and the immortal CHRISTMAS CAROL before they sell out: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...
Graphic for THE SIGNAL-MAN & THE TRIAL FOR MURDER: a man in undertaker's weeds disappearing into a black void. Graphic for THE HAUNTED MAN: a semi-transparent man in Victorian dress against a starry sky. Graphic for A CHRISTMAS CAROL: a leonine door knocker on a maroon background.

Always a pleasure to reconnect with @adamzed.bsky.social - this time as he delivered engaging writing workshops in Staffordshire. We chatted about 'The Book of Darkness and Light' theatre tour & all things ghostly. Make sure you follow Adam at @tbodal.bsky.social & catch him on stage near you...

An absolute pleasure to catch up with Black Country legends The Fizzogs at Brierley Hill.

As well as speaking of spooky stories, we talked about their successful Dancing Grannies Quiz Night, which returns in December for more hilarity, hip gyrations & potential hernias!

A return visit to #Northwich for The Librarian, but this time in the atmospheric Old School Room at Weaver Hall Museum where Northwich Library is currently housed.

We're not only delighted that it was a full house, but also that 3 people joined Cheshire West & Chester Libraries on the night!

Memorable day with @jamescswanton.bsky.social visiting Featherstone. James discussed Charles Dickens before performing The Signalman - a captivating & chilling re-creation in which he embodied the characters to such effect we were all transported from the #library to that lonely signal box. #theatre

The estimable Michael Palin’s latest diaries are out in paperback, and I was delighted to find his account of coming to see ‘The Woman In Black’ in 2009, which I was appearing in with the magnificent Julian Forsyth. I dug out my own diary from the time to compare (translation of my scrawl follows).
