It’s my understanding that SNAP is also an economic multiplier so every dollar generates 1.50 to 1.80 into the local economy and helps businesses & jobs at grocery stores, farmers, delivery etc. Won’t this create a ripple effect on our already poor job numbers etc as will expiring ACA tax credits?

If you make 130% of the federal poverty level, you qualify for SNAP.

A family of four, making $40,560, qualifies for SNAP benefits meaning thousands of Missouri teachers qualify.

I’m tired of the bullshit. Most of the people who receive snap benefits work.

SNAP benefits are good for the economy! They act as an economic multiplier, especially during downturns. Every dollar spent generates economic activity. every $1 SNAP spends generates 1.50 to $1.80 in economic activity. This spending supports jobs in grocery stores farmers, delivery drivers etc.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

It would be nice if we could have a free/heavily subsidized public healthcare system like Argentina has! We only demand affordable health insurance that costs thousands that can deny services, not cover certain medications and require payment of high deductibles/copays!
