BREAKING: Harvard AAUP & the nat'l AAUP have jointly filed a lawsuit & TRO to block the Trump admin from demanding that Harvard restrict speech & undermine academic freedom or else lose $8.7 billion in federal funds. This action challenges the Trump admin's misuse of funds for coercion. Stay tuned.

Co-governance means that faculty should be involved in these kinds of decisions.
UCONN is CT’s public flagship University. They should not be deciding which academic programs should be eliminated behind closed doors. Faculty, staff, students, alums and every CT resident deserve to see that list.
like everybody at UConn is exhausted from the semester, and here the provost is just taunting people with secret info? The disrespect to the faculty is just incredible. I don’t understand her approach at all today.uconn.edu/2024/12/vast...

This is real, unfortunately. Since the start of the school year, we have had to fill out one of these for literally every speaker and event at my 11yo's school, even if she doesn't have to leave the classroom. That includes visiting the scholastic book fair display
