Not actually Riggs. Sorry. I'm not even really a possum, I'm such a fraud. She/her I guess but I'd prefer if you just envisage me as a vague non-corporeal form, or maybe a brain in a fancy jar. With arms for typing & drawing, I suppose.

If you insist on pronouncing biopic like bio-pic, then you must also pronounce helicopter as helico-pter. Those are the rules!
Years ago I used to make jewellery which I sold at grimy clubnights, and a few times I saw people wearing something I'd made, which they'd bought from me at a previous event. It was so fulfilling that I still think about it regularly.
Saying it now, long term I wanna make textiles. Nothing makes me happier than seeing some of my old throw designs in someone’s random photo of their apartment. Yes, even the porno set people kept telling me about. That was cool too.
I will make blankets.
I will make blankets.
The biggest thing i've learned as an artist who sells prints and merch is don't make what people ask for. They won't buy it. Make what you, the artist, want to see printed on the support of ur choice.
I can't explain why but THAT'S what will sell. People who buy the most are the silent ones. 🫶

Jusant was released 2 years ago today! I couldn't have wished for a better reception. Thanks to every person who played this game (you are MANY), and a special <3 to all those who shared how it made them feel. Each comment, message, essay and critic I've seen helped me continue writing for games 🌱💫

Just now I was struggling with a website because the button for the stupid "AI assistant" was getting in the way of the actual site. Do we all need to start sending complaints so managers & marketing understand they're actively detrimental for many people?
everyone's got an AI and it's fucking awful, like lol. it's such a funny thing for everyone to do, just put a bad AI in their product. Like they're fucking useless man, every one.

After 770 hours of vanilla Qud I've gotten some mods to try out. Crungle Mode! is fantastic, after a few false starts I'm now a dawnglider and Warden Yrame has gone insane and murdered everyone in Joppa except for Argyve. And the one person Argyve murdered.

I spent 3 hours trying to figure out what hammered dulcimer to buy this evening. I want one so bad. Learning to play a many-stringed trapezoid with a mind-bending tuning pattern will go so well with my hellish job & chronic health problems!
The two coolest stories of people learning instruments are:
1. They started as kids, playing it literally 6+ hours a day obsessively
2. They started at 40+ years old and learned even with life crushing them

The dying gasps of big labels being willing to fund alt rock & similar bands in the late 90s/early 00s really let some great music out into the world. So many bands broke up or went more commercially friendly in the aftermath though.

There's something about practical objects being little pieces of art that really appeals to me. "Decorative art" has often been seen as somehow lower than art purely for art's sake, but beautifying day-to-day life and making it more joyful seems ideal to me.
Beautiful 1860s Victorian butterfly, which was used to store small packets of sewing needles on the underside of the wings. This was a collaboration between a London-based drapers company and a sewing needle manufacturer. On exhibit at Tatter Blue, a Brooklyn textile museum.

I think the popularity of LLMs/generative AI amongst a certain type of Business Guy makes more sense once you know they don't actually care about knowing things or having evidence, but want to feel like they do. And they want words & charts that back up decisions they make based on greed or vibes.

Just read 8 pages of markov chain generated book from Caves of Qud out loud. I was not expecting it to be easier to read out loud than I find things normally. Weirdly fun, given I generally hate reading out loud. Recommended.

Well congratulations to the Caves of Qud team on the Hugo! That's super cool, and well deserved - hard to put into words how fantastic the game and its setting are.
