Odd that quite a number of U.S. Army Commendation Medals (ARCOM) were issued to Australian soldiers during the Afghanistan conflict (2001-2021) for meritorious service, bravery, and outstanding achievement while working ‘ALONGSIDE’ U.S. forces #USpol #auspol #NATO @jacquilambie.bsky.social

It was appropriate to have a day of mourning, but this language is very problematic in the context of Israel's actions and the political insistence on merging all Jews with that country as a unitary identity. And Minns' tie colour choice wasn't an accident.

@quolltracks.bsky.social here’s another use for old railway spikes seen in a souvenir shop in Keith SA in Dec ‘25. It’s a napkin holder. A friend made similar for pamphlets using an old wooden ship spike from the Alma Doepel. Can’t find the photo but it looked good. He’s into woodwork + tall ships.

As a community service, I taste tested these earlier today + they’re good. Would recommend. I’ve rated them 8/10 because I reckon they could’ve had just a tad more chilli but understand why they would choose to keep the heat factor down. Will enjoy the rest of the packet tomorrow + will buy again.
